Renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh
Mohammed Shihabuddin Nadvi left this mortal world to meet his Lord
in the morning on April 18, 2002 in Bangalore (India) at the age of
71 years. Sheikh Nadvi was pre-occupied in research on the holy
Qur’an and its scientific aspects for the past nearly five decades.
For the first time he presented before the world some of the
astounding scientific researches concerning the basic Islamic tenets
of the unity of god, prophethood and the day of resurrection. He has
authored 80 books on different aspects of the subject and a dozen
more are awaiting publication.
Besides these intellectual endeavours, he even founded Furqania
Academy Trust, a pioneering research foundation on the subject.
Today this academy bears testimony to his tireless and selfless
endeavours and services in this regard. The reference library of the
academy now contains nearly 40,000 reference volumes containing all
the basic sources of Islam. There is a rich collection of scientific
books as well. Sheikh Nadvi has on his own collected this entire
collection touring different Islamic countries.
May the Almighty bless him and provide him an elevated place in the
Jannatul Firdouse! Ameen.
