New Delhi: The Fourth Shah Waliullah
Award has been posthumously
conferred upon late Maulana Shihabuddin Nadvi, the internationally
acknowledged scholar on Quran and Science and
founder of Furqania Academy Trust. He is
considered authority on Qur'anic sciences. His books on Quran
and Science are popular across the globe. According to Dr Manzoor
Alam of Institute of Objective Studies, Delhi, which has constituted
the award, the previous three awards were conferred on Late, Maulana
Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, Late, Qazi
Mujahidul Islam and Prof Najathullah Siddique. Late, Maulana
Shihabuddin Nadvi has been conferred this award for his immense
contribution in the field of Quran and Science.
He
was honoured with 4th Shah Waliullah Award
on 27 March at an impressive function held at Jamia Millia Islamia's
Ansari Auditorium. Supreme Court's former Cheif Justice A.M. Ahmadi
presented the award to late Moulana Shahabuddin's son, Moulana
Jameelur Rahman Nadwi. The award is instituted by Institute of
Objective Studies (IOS) and given every year to eminent persons for
their distinguished contribution or performance in the fields of
literature, law, Islamic theology and social services. The award
carries a cash award of Rs 1 lakh and a memento.
After receiving the award, Moulana
Jameelur Rahman Nadvi, contributed the whole amount of the award to
the Furqania Academy Trust on behalf of the family of Late Moulana
Nadvi.
